Become a VolunteerWe need people with all types of experienceβnot only technical or professional backgrounds. Some of the most important work is helping neighbors stay informed, sharing accurate information, and making sure local voices are included in decisions that may shape Pottawatomie County for decades.
Help review planning documents, zoning materials, meeting agendas, permits, utility proposals, company filings, environmental information, public records, and other source material.
Help connect with neighbors, landowners, farmers, parents, local businesses, civic groups, churches, and residents who may be affected or simply want reliable information.
We welcome volunteers with experience in zoning, land use, law, public administration, county government, utilities, water, agriculture, transportation, environmental regulation, real estate, or public policy.
Help with GIS, maps, spreadsheets, infrastructure research, utility research, energy and water-use analysis, noise research, environmental research, data visualization, or technical fact-checking.
Help write updates, summarize public meetings, create graphics, manage social media, photograph events, edit video, design flyers, write letters to the editor, or help maintain the website.
Help with town halls, public meetings, petition efforts, volunteer coordination, sign-in tables, outreach, transportation, setup, food, childcare coordination, and connecting residents with information.
Help identify grants, organize donations, plan fundraising events, connect with supportive community members, or provide nonprofit, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial-administration experience.
Help make information easier to access for all residents through translation, accessibility support, meeting assistance, phone outreach, printed materials, or one-on-one neighbor support.
You do not need specialized experience to contribute. We need dependable people willing to attend meetings, distribute information, make calls, help with events, or support the work however they can.
